Claire Rhiannon Holt (born June 11, 1988) is an Australian actress, known for her role as Rebekah Mikaelson in the television series The Vampire Diaries and its spin-off series The Originals, Samara Cook in Pretty Little Liars, Emma in H2O: Just Add Water and Kate in the survival horror film 47 Meters Down (2017). 2Personal life Holt was born in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. She graduated from Stuartholme School in Toowong at the end of 2005. She is involved in several sports: swimming, volleyball, water polo, and Tae-Kwon-Do, in which she has a black belt. When she was younger, she was in the school choir. Holt became engaged to her longtime boyfriend Matthew Kaplan in July 2015. The two were married in April 2016. On 27 April 2017, Kaplan filed for divorce from Holt, citing "irreconcilable differences".
