Erik King (born April 21, 1963) is an American actor, best known for his portrayal of Sergeant James Doakes on Showtime's television series Dexter and for his role as Moses Deyell on Oz. 2Early life King, whose father was a policeman, attended Morehouse College, where he won a varsity letter in track and field and graduated summa cum laude. For his honors thesis, he adapted the film Krush Groove (1985) as a stage musical.
