In his 1987 book, The Art of the Deal, Trump tells a story in which the chairman of Holiday Inn requested to meet with Trump. Trump assumed the purpose of the meeting was the chairman's interest in buying his Barbizon property. After Trump pitched the sale, he discovered that the chairman did not want to meet to express interest in buying the property from Trump, but instead wanted to become Trump's partner in Atlantic City.
