Foucault was in Berkeley to deliver the Howison lectures (“Subjectivity and Truth”) on 20-21 October 1980. Excerpts of this interview appeared in an article written by Bess, and published on 10 November 1980 in the Daily Californian, the Berkeley student newspaper.
