“He was a young, good-looking guy, big guy, a huge personality, what somebody would call a ‘room bender.’ He would come into a room and everybody knew he was there. Lots of energy, part of the Kennedy mystique, and was an all-out progressive, itchy and anxious to change and reform and get it done right away. Of course I immediately identified with him because I had essentially the same views on that stuff.”
