“I mean, you have the correct attitude. I think so many people don’t understand what the meaning of consent is. It’s not like you start kissing and suddenly you’ve signed an implicit agreement to do everything in the world. If you’re in the middle of having sex and someone suddenly becomes forceful with you and makes you do things that you don’t want to do, that is an act of sexual assault— whether you started having intercourse with them or not. And I think so many women go, 'But I put myself in this situation, but I opened myself to this person, and everything that happened is something I asked for.' And that is a very dangerous mythology that we have to break down.”
