“Most criminals are not psychopaths, and many of the individuals who manage to operate on the shady side of the law and remain out of prison are psychopaths.”
About This Quote
Hare distinguishes between those who meet the criteria for Antisocial Personality Disorder (sociopathy) and those who are psychopaths. In his opinion, sociopaths are more likely to be criminals, whereas psychopaths are likely always flirting with overstepping the law while rarely getting caught. Sociopaths tend to be "created" by their environment, taught to become hostile, while psychopaths tend to be "born" the way that they are. They don't hold a "grudge," they simply have no conscience.
