I found this man, Gregory Andino, in the Schuylkill River in Philly while I was there for a brief trip. I happened to be walking from the Mutter Museum over the Walnut Street Bridge to the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, looked into the river and - there he was.

I flagged down a guy who was jogging and was like: hey, is that what I think it is? He was like, sure looks that way! And jogged off. I called 911 and the dispatcher chuckled at how horrified I was, then asked me if I'd be willing to stay with the body until the police showed up. I said no fucking way and she laughed.

I told the friend I was visiting about this whole experience and she just shrugged and said, 'Aw, that's just Philly bein' Philly.'

Depressed me for a while afterwards, and I avoided looking into bodies of water for a long time.
