She lives in London with her husband and two children. In her first novel, Sister, she tells the story of Beatrice, living in New York, in search for Tess, her missing sister, who lives in London. Sister has been a great commercial success, and was sold over 1.3 million copies worldwide. It has been translated in 30 languages, and it is a best-seller on the New York Times and Sunday Times lists. It received good reviews by the New York Times.
