Candice Rene King (née Accola; born May 13, 1987) is an American actress, singer, and songwriter, known for portraying the role of Caroline Forbes on The CW's The Vampire Diaries. 2Early life Candice Rene Accola was born in Houston, Texas, the daughter of Carolyn (Clark), who was an environmental engineer before becoming a homemaker, and Kevin Accola, a cardiothoracic surgeon.
