James Bond
The James Bond series focuses on a fictional British Secret Service agent created in 1953 by writer Ian Fleming, who featured him in twelve novels and two short-story collections. Since Fleming's death in 1964, eight other authors have written authorised Bond novels or novelizations: Kingsley Amis, Christopher Wood, John Gardner, Raymond Benson, Sebastian Faulks, Jeffery Deaver, William Boyd and Anthony Horowitz. The latest novel is Trigger Mortis by Anthony Horowitz, published in September 2015. Additionally Charlie Higson wrote a series on a young James Bond, and Kate Westbrook wrote three novels based on the diaries of a recurring series character, Moneypenny. The character has also been adapted for television, radio, comic strip, video games and film. The films are the longest continually running film series of all time and have grossed over $7.040 billion in total, making it the fourth-highest-grossing film series to date, which started in 1962 with Dr. No, starring Sean Connery as Bond. As of 2018, there have been twenty-four films in the Eon Productions series. The most recent Bond film, Spectre (2015), stars Daniel Craig in his fourth portrayal of Bond; he is the sixth actor to play Bond in the Eon series. There have also been two independent productions of Bond films: Casino Royale (a 1967 spoof) and Never Say Never Again (a 1983 remake of an earlier Eon-produced film, Thunderball
[to Pussy] I believe that the bourbon and branch water is rather splendid here in Kentucky. Now that we're both off duty, perhaps...
James Bond: Why were you shooting at me? Tilly Masterson: I wasn't. I was shooting at Goldfinger. James Bond: Then you're an awful shot.
Pussy Galore: What happened? Where's Goldfinger? James Bond: Playing his golden harp.
James Bond: Do you expect me to talk? Auric Goldfinger: No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die!
Auric Goldfinger. Sounds like a French nail varnish.
[Why Bond wears a gun] I have a slight inferiority complex.
[After his laser encounter, Bond awakens to find a woman staring at him.] Bond: Who are you? Pussy Galore: My name is Pussy Galore. Bond: [looks away and smiles] I must be dreaming.
[remarks at Goldfinger's US Army uniform with colonel's wings] Congratulations on your promotion, Goldfinger. Are you having lunch at the White House, too?
A martini. Shaken, not stirred.
My dear girl, there are some things that just aren't done, such as drinking Dom Perignon '53 above the temperature of 38 degrees Fahrenheit. That's just as bad as listening to The Beatles without earmuffs!
At least they won't be using heroin-flavored bananas to finance revolutions.
A martini. Shaken, not stirred.
Bond: [draping arm around nurse] Do I seem healthy to you? Pat Fearing: Too healthy, by far.
Miss Moneypenny: Uh uh. In the conference room. Something pretty big. Every double-oh man in Europe's been rushed in. And the Home Secretary, too. James Bond: Somebody's probably lost a dog.
Fiona: You look pale, Mr. Bond. I hope I didn't frighten you. Bond: Well you see, I've always been a nervous passenger.
[Bond is standing in the doorway between their apartments as Fiona takes a bath] Fiona: Aren't you in the wrong room, Mr. Bond? Bond: Not from where I'm standing.
Emilio Largo: You wish to put the evil eye on me, eh? We have a way to deal with that where I come from. James Bond: You may hex me. Let's see what it does for the cards.
[after making love to Pat, Bond sees something suspicious on the grounds, and gets up to investigate] Pat Fearing: James, where are you going? James Bond: Oh, nowhere. I just thought I'd take a little, uh... exercise. Pat Fearing: You must be joking.
[after making love to the evil Fiona Volpe] James Bond: My dear girl, don't flatter yourself. What I did this evening was for Queen and country. You don't think it gave me any pleasure, do you? Fiona: But of course, I forgot your ego, Mr. Bond. James Bond, the one where he has to make love to a…
