You leave town for a couple of decades and they change everything.
Frollo: Look at that disgusting display. Phoebus: [raising his visor] Yes, sir!
Phoebus: Why is it, whenever we meet, I end up bleeding? Esmeralda: You're lucky. That arrow almost pierced your heart. Phoebus: [holding her hand to his heart] I'm not so sure it didn't.
[singing] I don't know if you can hear me / Or if you're even there / I don't know if you would listen / To a Gypsy's prayer / Yes, I know I'm just an outcast / I shouldn't speak to you / Still, I see your face and wonder / Were you once an outcast, too?
[singing] Protect me, Maria / Don't let the siren cast her spell / Don't let her fire sear my flesh and bone / Destroy Esmeralda / And let her taste the fires of hell / Or else let her be mine and mine alone.
Quasimodo: You are good to me master. I'm sorry. Frollo: You're forgiven. But remember Quasimodo, this is your sanctuary. [Frollo leaves] Quasimodo: My sanctuary.
[to Esmeralda] Candlelight, privacy, music. Can't think of a better place for hand-to-hand combat.
Frollo: The sentence for insubordination is death. Such a pity. You threw away a promising career. Phoebus: Consider it my highest honor, sir.
[after the night with the visions] Phoebus: Good morning, sir. Are you feeling all right? Frollo: I had a little trouble with the fireplace.
[to Quasimodo] Quasi, take it from an old spectator. Life's not a spectator sport. If watchin' is all you're gonna do, then you're gonna watch your life go by without ya.

[singing] I ask for nothing, I can get by / But I know so many less lucky than I / Please help my people, the poor and downtrod / I thought we all were the children of God / God help the outcasts, children of God.
