“My father was really cool. He was a military guy and he was in the police department for a while. He was a no-nonsense guy. He was a no-BS guy. He thought acting in show business was really for weirdos and fairies. When I went to him and I said, 'I want to drop out of school, and move to the States, and be an actor,' he really surprised me. He just looked at me and said, 'Well, if you want to be a lumberjack, go to the goddamn forest.' He drove me down.”
