I picture heaven as a vast library, with unlimited volumes to read. And paintings and statues to examine galore. I picture it as a great doorway to learning...rather than one great dull answer to all our questions.

Anne Rice
Anne Rice (born Howard Allen Frances O'Brien; October 4, 1941) is an American author of gothic fiction, Christian literature, and erotica. She is perhaps best known for her popular and influential series of novels, The Vampire Chronicles, revolving around the central character of Lestat. Books from The Vampire Chronicles were the subject of two film adaptations, Interview with the Vampire in 1994, and Queen of the Damned in 2002. Born in New Orleans, Rice spent much of her early life there before moving to Texas, and later to San Francisco. She was raised in an observant Catholic family, but became an agnostic as a young adult. She began her professional writing career with the publication of Interview with the Vampire in 1976, while living in California, and began writing sequels to the novel in the 1980s. In the mid-2000s, following a publicized return to Catholicism, Rice published the novels Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt and Christ the Lord: The Road to Cana, fictionalized accounts of certain incidents in the life of Jesus. Several years later she distanced herself from organized Christianity, citing disagreement with the Church's stances on social issues but pledging that faith in God remained "central to [her] life." However, she now considers herself a secular humanist. Rice's books have sold nearly 100 million copies, placing her among the most popular authors in recent American history. While reaction to her early works was initially mixed, she became more popular with critics and readers in the 1980
That was the test of love, he thought dreamily, when you can’t bear to be this happy without the other person with you.
Find the attitude which gives you the maximum strength and the maximum dignity, no matter what else is going on.
I would have done just about anything for him.
We do good when we make others forget their sorrow, make them forget for a little while.
Whatever you’ve suffered, no matter how bad it’s been, you can use that, use that to be a stronger person.
Life is a gift.
Only love could create such conflict, such longing, such fear.
We are blessed to be tiny beings in this universe. We are blessed to feel momentous because we are larger than these grains of sand.
Pain. Unspeakable pain. It didn’t matter who in this world or any other was staring at me, watching me, seeking to share this moment or merely shuddering as I experienced it. Just didn’t matter. Because in pain like this one is always alone.
Collect yourself, whatever you are, into something with a purpose.
You are too strong for this rain and too strong for this sorrow.
There is no normal life. There is only life.
We spend too much time cursing time—time waits for no man, time will tell, oh, the ravages of time, time flies! We don’t think about the gift of time. Time gives us the chance to make mistakes and correct them, to regenerate, to grow. Time gives us the chance to forgive, to restore, to do better…
Who will take care of me, my love, my dark angel, when you are gone?
Don't be afraid. I'm going to give you the choice I never had.
Goodnight sweet prince, may flights of devils wing you to your rest.
[smiling] And the more you tried, the more I wanted you.
The world changes, we do not, there lies the irony that finally kills us.
