Connie: [shrieking at Michael] You killed my husband! You waited until our father died so nobody could stop you and you killed him! You killed him! You blamed him for Sonny, you always did, everybody did. But you never thought about me. You never gave a dam about me. What am I going to do now? Kay…

Francis Ford Coppola
Francis Ford Coppola (US pronunciation: /ˈkoʊpələ/; born April 7, 1939), also credited as Francis Coppola, is a semi-retired American film director, producer, and screenwriter. He is considered to have been a central figure of the New Hollywood wave of filmmaking. After directing The Rain People (1969), he co-wrote the 1970 film Patton, earning the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay along with co-writer Edmund H. North. His directorial prominence was cemented with the release in 1972 of The Godfather, a film which revolutionized movie-making in the gangster genre, earning praise from both critics and the public before winning three Academy Awards—including his second Oscar (Best Adapted Screenplay, with Mario Puzo), Best Picture, and his first nomination for Best Director. He followed with The Godfather Part II in 1974, which became the first sequel to win the Academy Award for Best Picture. Highly regarded by critics, it brought him three more Academy Awards: Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Director and Best Picture, and made him the second director, after Billy Wilder, to be honored three times for the same film. The Conversation, which he directed, produced and wrote, was released that same year, winning the Palme d'Or at the 1974 Cannes Film Festival. He next directed 1979's Apocalypse Now. While notorious for its lengthy and strenuous production, the film was widely acclaimed for its vivid and stark depiction of the Vietnam War, winning the Palme d'Or at the 1979 Cannes Film Festival. Coppola is one of only eight filmmakers to win two Palme d'Or award
The negotiator's at my house playing pinochle with some of my men, he's happy. They're letting him win.
[Michael gets ready to leave the house] Sonny: Where're you going? Michael: To the city. Sonny: [to Clemenza] Yeah? Well, send somebody with him. Michael: No, I'm just gonna go see Pop. Sonny: I don't care, send some bodyguards with him. Clemenza: He'll be all right. Sollozzo knows he's a civilian.…
Sonny: How's Paulie? Clemenza: Oh, Paulie... won't see him no more.
Tom Hagen: The Senator called, he apologized for not coming but said that you would understand; also some of the judges. They've all sent gifts. [raises his glass to the Don] Salut. [Both men are suddenly startled by a huge roaring cheer] Don Corleone: What is that, outside? [Both look out the…
Capt. McCluskey: I thought I got all you Guinea hoods locked up! What the hell are you doing here? Michael: What happened to the men who were guarding my father, Captain? Capt. McCluskey: I pulled them guys off of here, eh, now get away from this hospital! Michael: I'm not leaving until you put some…
[teaching Apollonia to drive] It's safer to teach you English!
Michael: You and I are going to move my father to another room, now can you disconnect those tubes so we can move the bed out of here? Night Nurse: That is out of the question. Michael: You know my father? Men are coming here to kill him, now help me, please.
Don Corleone, I am honored and grateful that you have invited me to your daughter's wedding...on the day of your daughter's wedding. And I hope their first child be a masculine child. I pledge my never-ending loyalty.
Michael: [the car that Michael, Sollozzo, and McClusky are riding in takes an unexpected detour] New Jersey... we're going to New Jersey? Sollozzo: [sinister] Maybe.
Capt. McCluskey: How's the Italian food in this restaurant? Sollozzo: Good. Try the veal, it's the best in the city. Capt. McCluskey: I'll have it.
Sollozzo: I'm glad you came, Mike. I hope we can straighten everything out. I mean, this is terrible... it's not the way I wanted things to go at all. It should've never happened. Michael: We'll straighten everything out tonight. I don't want my father bothered anymore. Sollozzo: He won't be, Mike.…
Sonny: Did he...did Clemenza tell you to drop the gun? Michael: Yeah, a million times.
Sonny: Tom-anuch! Hey, a hundred button men on the street twenty-four hours a day. That Turk shows one hair on his ass, he's dead. Believe me. [to Michael, whose face is bruised] Hey Michael, c'mere. Let me look at you. You look beautiful, just beautiful, you're gorgeous. Hey, listen to this. The…
[speaking with the father of the girl he plans to marry, and after telling him that he's in hiding from some gangsters] Michael: Some people will pay a lot of money for that information; but then your daughter would lose a father, instead of gaining a husband.
[to Michael] So, Barzini will move against you first. He'll set up a meeting with someone that you absolutely trust, guaranteeing your safety. And at that meeting, you'll be assassinated.
Sollozzo: [to Michael, in Sicilian] I am sorry. What happened to your father was business. I have much respect for your father. But your father, his thinking is old-fashioned. You must understand why I had to do that. Now let's work through where we go from here. [Michael tries speaking in Sicilian,…
[during a meeting with the Five Families] Times have changed. It's not like the Old Days, when we can do anything we want. A refusal is not the act of a friend. If Don Corleone had all the judges, and the politicians in New York, then he must share them, or let us others use them. He must let us…
[after Michael gets off the phone with Kay, clearly too embarrassed to tell her he loves her] Mikey, why don't you tell that nice girl you love her? I love you with all-a my heart, if I don't see-a you again soon, I'm-a gonna die.
Goddamned FBI don't respect nothin'.
