I have to go back to work! I know what you're going to say but I need the money because I cannot live like this. I cannot live like this. And I cannot live without you.

Gia Carangi
Gia Marie Carangi (January 29, 1960 – November 18, 1986) was an American fashion model during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Considered by some to be the first supermodel, she was featured on the cover of fashion magazines, including multiple editions of Vogue and Cosmopolitan, and appeared in advertising campaigns for such fashion houses as Armani, Christian Dior, Versace, and Yves Saint Laurent. After she became addicted to heroin, Carangi's modeling career rapidly declined. She died of AIDS-related complications at the age of 26, becoming one of the first famous women to die of the disease. Her life was dramatized in the television film Gia, starring Angelina Jolie, which debuted on HBO in 1998. 2Life and career 31960–77: Early life Carangi was born in Philadelphia, the third and youngest child of Joseph Carangi, a restaurant owner, and Kathleen Carangi (née Adams), a homemaker. She had two older brothers. Her father was Italian, and her mother was of Irish and Welsh ancestry. Joseph and Kathleen had an unstable, violent marriage, ultimately leading Kathleen to abandon the family when Carangi was eleven years old. Those who knew her blamed her "fractured childhood" for the instability and drug dependence that plagued her adult lif
People keep going away from me, that hurts.
I could learn photography. That could be something to want. I could photograph children. I could have my own children. I would give them yellow roses. And if they got too loud, I would just put them some place quiet. Put them in the oven. And I would kiss them every day, and tell them you don't have…
You were the one. You were the only one. And you were amazing.
Yeah, but what is it that I want? What do I want?
I don't think a woman is really a woman, unless she's a blonde, you know?
Oh, is that it? Your're just jealous! You're just jealous because you don't want anyone to know about us! You don't want it to get around that you and me... you are with a model! You don't want it to be known that you're fucking a model! Go ahead and say it, I'm fucking a model!
Where's my knife? Who took my fucking knife? What do I look like, fucking terrorist? Is this funny? What the fuck is WRONG with you people? Where the fuck- get the fuck away from me! GET AWAY! WHERE IS MY KNIFE? God, you can't... you can't do that! You don't take somebody's knife when they need it!
When she kisses me, I feel all four winds blow at my face. But what do you do with a woman who has no love for you? She’s my lost captive and no longer lies along my legs… I wrote that for you.
I should've been a rockstar, but I can't sing.
And besides, you were the one who always had my heart, you know?
The pains that have burned me and scarred my soul, it was worth it, for having been allowed to walk where I've walked, which was to hell on earth, heaven on earth, back again, into, under, far in between, throught it, in it, and above.
I have to go... I have to go... where the fuck does everybody go when they have to go?
Well, good, that’s the idea. You scare the shit out of people so they can’t see how scared you are.
Dear book, this is another day in my life. A life is like a book. A book is like a box. A box has six sides. Inside and outside, so, how do you get to what's inside? How do you get what's inside, out? Once upon a time, there lived a very pretty girl, who lived in a beautiful box, and everybody loved…
Because, if you let it be about you, then you're screwed, you know? So you have to stay separate from what's happening and you have to be somewhere else. But I don't know where that somewhere else is, you know? Or how to do that.
You know what I think? I think there's a reason for everything. And I think that there's a plan for everyone. And I think that God has a big plan for me. Just not in this life.
Life and death, energy and peace. If I stop today it was still worth it. Even the terrible mistakes that I made and would have unmade if I could. The pains that have burned me and scarred my soul, it was worth it, for having been allowed to walk where I've walked, which was to hell on earth, heaven…
Too beautiful to die. Too wild to live.
I want to live so bad, but I'm so terribly sad.
