Senator Pat Geary: I despise your masquerade, the dishonest way you pose yourself. You and your whole fucking family. Michael Corleone: We're both part of the same hypocrisy, senator, but never think it applies to my family.

Francis Ford Coppola
Francis Ford Coppola (US pronunciation: /ˈkoʊpələ/; born April 7, 1939), also credited as Francis Coppola, is a semi-retired American film director, producer, and screenwriter. He is considered to have been a central figure of the New Hollywood wave of filmmaking. After directing The Rain People (1969), he co-wrote the 1970 film Patton, earning the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay along with co-writer Edmund H. North. His directorial prominence was cemented with the release in 1972 of The Godfather, a film which revolutionized movie-making in the gangster genre, earning praise from both critics and the public before winning three Academy Awards—including his second Oscar (Best Adapted Screenplay, with Mario Puzo), Best Picture, and his first nomination for Best Director. He followed with The Godfather Part II in 1974, which became the first sequel to win the Academy Award for Best Picture. Highly regarded by critics, it brought him three more Academy Awards: Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Director and Best Picture, and made him the second director, after Billy Wilder, to be honored three times for the same film. The Conversation, which he directed, produced and wrote, was released that same year, winning the Palme d'Or at the 1974 Cannes Film Festival. He next directed 1979's Apocalypse Now. While notorious for its lengthy and strenuous production, the film was widely acclaimed for its vivid and stark depiction of the Vietnam War, winning the Palme d'Or at the 1979 Cannes Film Festival. Coppola is one of only eight filmmakers to win two Palme d'Or award
[during the play 'Senza Mamma'] Genco Abbandando: Vito, how do you like my little angel? Isn't she beautiful? Vito Corleone: She's very beautiful. To you, she's beautiful. For me, there's only my wife and son.
[Vito returns years later to Sicily and meets Don Ciccio, the man who murdered Vito's family] Don Ciccio: I see you took the name of the town. What was your father's name? Vito Corleone: Antonio Andolini. Don Ciccio: You'll have to speak up. I can't hear you Vito Corleone: My father's name was…
I know now that it's over. I knew it then. There would be no way, Michael...no way you could ever forgive me not with this Sicilian thing that's been going on for 2,000 years. [Michael loses control. He slaps Kay across the face. She falls onto the couch]
Oh, Michael. Michael, you are blind. It wasn't a miscarriage. It was an abortion. An abortion, Michael. Just like our marriage is an abortion. Something that's unholy and evil. I didn't want your son, Michael! I wouldn't bring another one of you sons into this world! It was an abortion, Michael! It…
If anything in this life is certain, if history has taught us anything, it is that you can kill anyone.
What I am saying is, we have now what we have always needed, real partnership with the government.
I am a retired investor on a pension, and I wished to live there as a Jew in the twilight of my life.
Michael Corleone: I've always taken care of you, Fredo. Fredo Corleone: Taken care of me? You're my kid brother and you take care of me? Did you ever think about that, huh? Did you ever ONCE think about that? 'Send Fredo off to do this; Send Fredo off to do that.' 'Let Fredo take care of some Mickey…
I know it was you, Fredo. You broke my heart. You broke my heart!
[about the unrest in Cuba] Michael Corleone: I saw a strange thing today. Some rebels were being arrested. One of them pulled the pin on a grenade. He took himself and the captain of the command with him. Now, soldiers are paid to fight; the rebels aren't. Hyman Roth: What does that tell you?…
I don't feel I have to wipe everybody out, Tom. Just my enemies.
My father taught me many things here—he taught me in this room. He taught me: keep your friends close, but your enemies closer.
I make him an offer he don' refuse. Don' worry.
Michael Corleone: If someone is going around this city saying, 'Fuck Michael Corleone,' what do we do with a piece of shit like that? He's a fuckin' dog. Joey Zasa: Yes, it's true. If someone were to say such a thing, they would not be a friend. They would be a dog.
Vincent Mancini: You like to gamble? Why don't we go to Atlantic City? My town. I'll show you how to gamble. Grace Hamilton: Yeah, but I like to win. How will I know what numbers to pick? Vincent Mancini: Do I look okay like a guy who's gonna lose?
Uncle Michael, listen—I know you're into banks and Wall Street, but everyone knows you're the final word, you're like the Supreme Court. All I want to do is protect you from these guys and your lawyers can't do that.
Altobello, you FUCK! You deceitful old fuck!
Your sins are terrible. It is just that you suffer. Your life could be redeemed, but I know you don't believe that. You will not change.
Don Altobello: Treachery is everywhere. Michael Corleone: You still have your fingers on the strings, even now.
