“Use those ‘super likes,’ too. If someone sees that you’re genuinly interested in them, then there’s a higher chance that they’ll swipe right for you. People like to be liked.”

— Holly Riordan, thoughtcatalog.com

“You might be hesitant to really play up your assets because you worry it will make you seem cocky or self-involved. But leaving out interesting info, like how you're awesome at snowboarding or speak two languages, results in a lackluster first impression.”

— Ashley Womble, cosmopolitan.com

“There’s a finite number of pictures a person is going to go through before deciding whether they’re attracted to you or not. Each picture should be substantially different from the one before it. Don’t waste my time with five pictures of your face from the same angle.”

— Helen Zhang, thoughtcatalog.com

“Never leave things blank. If you can’t put the time into filling out a simple dating profile, why would an interested guy/gal assume you’d put the time investing into getting to know them?”

— Ashley, eharmony.com

“Don't treat your profile like an autobiography. While things like your hometown and alma mater are certainly important, you may want to save all of the gritty details for the first date.”

— Madeline Stone, businessinsider.com

“Don't list what you don't want. Avoid writing about the men or qualities you don't want such as 'no couch potatoes' or 'must be honest.' Men will see you as being critical and this detracts from your fun quotient.”

— Ronnie Ann Ryan, yourtango.com

“You don't have to check your Tinder profile every hour but a guy is less likely to swipe right if he notices you haven't been on the app for a few weeks.”

— The Editors, marieclaire.com

“Soul mate. Knight in shining armor. These terms permeate women’s profiles, and yet it probably comes as no surprise that men get skittish when they see poetic language along these lines.”

— Laura Gilbert, match.com

“Leave the novel at home. Online dating profiles should be brief. My recommended word count its 125 - 150 words on a traditional dating profile and two sentences on a mobile app.”

— Julie Spira, huffingtonpost.com

“It's cool to have some selfies for your photos, but make sure that you include at least one that isn't. — Joshua Pompey, huffingtonpost.com

“Don't do deep quotes. If you want to list a quote that showcases your personality be picky about it; sometimes a reference to Arrested Development will bring in less douchey guys than quoting Dante. It's hard to come off deep on Tinder. Let your flirting communicate it, not your initial page.”

— The Editors, marieclaire.com

— David Fox, cosmopolitan.com

“Use a camera that doesn’t suck.”

— Helen Zhang, thoughtcatalog.com

— Josh Chesler, phoenixnewtimes.com

— Holly Riordan, thoughtcatalog.com

“Send the first message. Make a move and keep the conversation flowing. There’s no need to wait several hours before responding to a message.”
